This paper aims the nonlinear static analysis of a building located in a high seismic hazard zone that initially followed the parameters of the Colombian Earthquake Resistant Building Regulation NSR-1O. For a building of 16 stories the seismic reinforced structural system used was the combined system of structural walls and moment frames with special energy dissipation; after that, the three-dimensional model of linear analysis was adapted in order to obtain the inelastic behavior of structural elements according to the standard ASCE 41-13 "Seismic Evaluation and Retrofit of Existing Building" through which the level of behavior of the structure could be stablished, allowing the verification of the previous design building perform through conventional methods. Some modifications to the design were proposed to improve the building behavior expected in terms of resistance and level of damage.
