Tras el ataque terrorista al centro empresarial World Trade Center en Nueva York, el escenario internacional si ha visto en amenazado por fuerzas militares que buscan alterar el orden social y político de occidente, buscando imponer una supremacía política y religiosa islámica. Esta serie de altercados han permeado la gran mayoría de los campos económicos, políticos y culturales de las sociedades. Tal es el caso, del periódico Jyllands-Posten en Dinamarca, donde se publicó una serie de caricaturas referentes al Profeta Mahoma, todas las representaciones intentaban estigmatizar a este sujeto musulmán, bajo un carácter violento y agresivo. Con esto en mente, el presente trabajo hace un profundo análisis de la caricatura Muhammad, 2005 de Kurt Westergaard, preguntándose cuestiones como: ¿es permitida la representación figurativa de Mahoma dentro del islam?, ¿es la caricatura una forma de ataque ofensivo a determinada comunidad?, ¿cuál es la relación entre los devotos musulmanes y su referente con el Profeta?
After the terrorist attack on the business center World Trade Center in New York, the international scene has been threatened by military forces that seek to alter the social and political order of the West, seeking to impose an Islamic political and religious supremacy. This series of altercations have permeated the great majority of the economic, political and cultural fields of societies. Such is the case, of the newspaper Jyllands-Posten in Denmark, where a series of cartoons referring to the Prophet Muhammad was published, all the representations tried to stigmatize this Muslim subject, under a violent and aggressive character. With this in mind, the present work makes an in-depth analysis of the cartoon Muhammad, 2005 by Kurt Westergaard, asking questions such as: is the figurative representation of Muhammad within Islam allowed? Is the caricature a form of attack that is offensive to a certain community? What is the relationship between Muslim devotees and their reference to the Prophet?
