Comportamiento de la estructura de capital en Colombia

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se analiza si existe una estructura de capital objetivo en las empresas de Colombia y qué tan rápido esta estructura se ajusta a dicho objetivo. Se utiliza una muestra de 1665 firmas durante los años 1995 al 2014. La metodología desarrollada se fundamenta en un modelo dinámico de ajuste parcial hacia el nivel de endeudamiento objetivo de las empresas, que se estima a través del Método Generalizado de Momentos (GMM). Los resultados del panel de datos dinámico indican que las firmas en Colombia si se ajustan a un nivel de endeudamiento objetivo y la velocidad de ajuste es aproximadamente 22% por año

This research analyses if there is a target capital structure in the companies of Colombia and how fast this structure adjusts to the target. A sample of 1665 companies from 1995 to 2014 is analyzed. The methodology developed is based on a dynamic model of partial adjustment for the target level of indebtedness of the companies, which is estimated through the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM).
