Abstract

Al partir de un lugar, por distintas circunstancias, existe una necesidad de aferrarse a memorias u objetos que hagan sentir un poco de la identidad de aquello que se deja atrás. El lugar de origen, los seres queridos y la nostalgia están presentes en las historias familiares, que acompañan al migrante donde sea que se encuentre. Del mismo modo, cuando hay que moverse mucho, las cargas deben ser ligeras: una pulsera, un tatuaje, una foto o, simplemente, un sentimiento, han de guardarse en el equipaje para llegar a un lugar ajeno. Cada quien necesita algo distinto para sentirse en casa. Las prioridades varían dependiendo de la historia de cada migrante. Algunos pueden llevar cajas repletas de objetos con valor sentimental, otros tienen pocas horas para escoger lo importante y hay quienes prefieren llevar todos sus recuerdos en su cabeza, para no arriesgarse a perder un objeto material.

When leaving a place, due to different circumstances, there is a need to cling to memories or objects that make us feel a bit of the identity of what is left behind. The place of origin, the beloved ones and the nostalgia are present in family stories, which accompany the migrant wherever he is. In the same way, when you have to move a lot, loads should be light: a bracelet, a tattoo, a photo or simply a feeling, have to be stored in the luggage to reach a foreign place. Everyone needs something different to feel at home. The priorities vary depending on the story of each migrant, some may carry boxes full of sentimental objects, others have few hours to choose what is important and there are those who prefer to carry all their memories in their heads, so as not to risk losing a material object.
