"The implementation of new technologies in the sewer systems of a city has allowed the development of cities in smarter and more sustainable ways, which is why there is a need to always improve the systems that are available. The sediment traps used before storm tanks seek to prevent the water that reaches the sewage networks from transporting the water from the first washing of the ground due to the rains, these waters carry with them a large amount of pollutants that should not reach to the network and also to the sewage discharge areas. In order to avoid this situation, different models of sediment traps have been developed to be evaluated and possibly implemented. The analysis of a helical sediment trap was carried out inside an inspection chamber in the aqueduct and sewage laboratory of the Universidad de los Andes..." -- Tomado del Formato de Documento de Grado.
