This paper considers the runway "Highland Rape" by Alexander McQueen, showed in London in 1995. The investigation aims to understand through which mechanisms McQueen built identities linked to a group militarily oppressed and how he evidenced the power relationships between attackers and attacked, through the visibility of the concept of sinister. Also, it will be examined how this visibility allowed a legitimating process of a group that was formerly excluded. In addition to this, this paper seeks to demonstrate how fashion is a communicative act established in the concept of image and its relationship with the medium and the body, evidencing the complexity of this links in the fashion industry.
