Centro de conservación e investigación Juan Amarillo

Abstract

"Este proyecto surge como una propuesta que promueve la conservación, investigación y la educación ambiental dentro de aquel entorno que rodea el ecosistema del humedal Juan Amarillo, y de igual forma como posible modelo replicable para otros bordes de humedales en Bogotá. Busca dar un frente de ciudad a esta relación entre la ciudad, artificial, espontánea y el humedal, natural, frágil, en riesgo mediante la protección del borde. El programa se divide en 3 partes principales: el Centro Investigativo, el Centro Educativo y el Programa Público. El centro investigativo dirigido por y para académicos promueve actividades que giran en torno a la investigación profunda del ecosistema, su mejor manejo y su rehabilitación. El espacio educativo busca ofrecer experiencias pedagógicas donde se concientice y capacite a la ciudadanía para que reconozcan los valores del humedal y su rol como ecosistema buscando el buen manejo de los recursos naturales. Finalmente, hay una preocupación de cómo el barrio circundante se va a apropiar y volver partícipe de lo que pasa en el humedal, el programa público busca organizar un proceso permanente de uso sensible del humedal donde se manejen una escala de eventos y actividades metropolitanas, visitas de colegios y de la ciudadanía en general. Así el proyecto atiende varias escalas, desde la escala inmediata del sector y el humedal hasta la escala metropolitana como un equipamiento ambiental de zonal."--Tomado del Formato de Documento de Grado.

"This project arises as a proposal that promotes conservation, research and environmental education within the environment surrounding the Juan Amarillo wetland ecosystem, and as a possible replicable model for other wetland edges in Bogotá. It seeks to give a city front to this relationship between the city, artificial and spontaneous and the wetland, natural fragile and at risk by protecting the edge. The program is divided into 3 main parts: the Investigative Center, the Educational Center and the Public Program. The research center directed by and for academics promotes activities that revolve around the deep investigation of the ecosystem, its better management and its rehabilitation. The educational space seeks to offer pedagogical experiences where citizens are made aware and taught to recognize the values of the wetland and its role as an ecosystem seeking good management of natural resources. Finally, there is a concern of how the surrounding neighborhood is going to appropriate and become a participant in what is happening in the wetland, the public program seeks to organize a permanent process of sensitive use of the wetland where a scale of events and metropolitan activities are handled, visits of schools and citizenship in general.
