Tensiones discursivas entre Martin Beck y la ciudad de Estocolmo: Roseanna (1965) de Maj Sjöwall y Per Wahlöö

Abstract

La obra de los esposos y escritores suecos Maj Sjöwall y Per Wahlöö es considerada referente de la novela policiaca escandinava por lo cual se han realizado diversas aproximaciones a ella. Este trabajo busca centrarse en Roseanna (1965) que es el primer tomo de su saga "Historia de un crimen" compuesta por 10 entregas anuales de los casos policiacos que enfrentan los miembros de la "Brigada nacional de homicidios" de Estocolmo, entre los cuales destaca el detective Martin Beck como protagonista. De este primer libro, se estudiará la estrecha relación entre el personaje protagonista y el espacio en que habita, para entender las diferentes tensiones discursivas que van configurando dicho personaje. Para ello, se analizará el estilo narrativo de la obra, la representación de lo urbano que maneja y una visión del texto desde las funciones simbólicas materna y paterna de la Estocolmo retratada en la novela. Este análisis resulta ser una herramienta interesante para analizar esta obra y, por tanto, se propone utilizar estas categorías simbólicas para futuras aproximaciones al trabajo de estos autores suecos, e incluso de otras novelas ambientadas en espacios urbanos.

Swedish husbands and writers Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö work is considered a referencial work for Scandinavian crime novels, which is why various approaches have been made to it. This work seeks to focus on Roseanna (1965) which is the first volume of their saga " The story of a crime" composed for 10 annual deliveries of the police cases faced by the members of the "National Homicide Squad" of Stockholm, among which Detective Martin Beck stands out as the protagonist. From this first book, the close relationship between the main character and the space in which he inhabits will be studied in order to understand the different discursive tensions that are shaping the detective. To achieve this, the narrative style of the work, the representation of the urban that it handles and a vision of the text from the symbolic maternal and paternal functions of the Stockholm portrayed in the novel will be analyzed. This studie turns out to be an interesting tool to analyze this work and, therefore, it is proposed to use these symbolic categories for future approaches to the work of these Swedish authors, and even of other novels set in urban spaces.
