La invención del Museo del Oro y el Museo Arqueológico Nacional (1935-1955): geografías del conocimiento, imágenes cartográficas y formas de exhibición

Abstract

Este trabajo reconstruye la creación y la historia temprana del Museo del Oro y el Museo Arqueológico Nacional, desde tres perspectivas. La primera aborda los procesos de circulación y apropiación del conocimiento, es decir los contactos que estas instituciones tuvieron con actores y organizaciones de otras latitudes. La segunda indaga en el uso que ambos museos le dieron a la geografía y la cartografía para darle orden y significado a sus colecciones. Y la tercera, rastrea y analiza la museografía y la museología de cada uno de ellos.

This work reconstructs the creation and early history of the Gold Museum and the National Archaeological Museum, from three perspectives. The first deals with the processes of circulation and appropriation of knowledge, that is, the contacts that these institutions had with actors and organizations from other latitudes. The second investigates the use that both museums gave to geography and cartography to give order and meaning to their collections. And the third, tracks and analyzes the museology and museology of each of them.
