William Shakespeare y John Fletcher: precursores del fanfiction

Abstract

El fanfiction, de manera simplificada, es la escritura ficcional realizada por fanáticos en condición de aficionado. Con la era digital este ejercicio se ha ido popularizando y su caracterización negativa ha disminuido. Una manera que la disciplina de los fan studies aborda el estudio de fanfiction en el mundo académico es reconocer a las obras creadas por fanáticos como artefactos literarios. Este trabajo investigativo busca pensar y analizar la idea de que algunos autores canónicos de la literatura "William Shakespeare y John Fletcher" cumplen la función de precursores de esta actividad. Se estableció una definición amplia de fanfiction, teniendo en cuenta sus matices, y luego se analizó la obra seleccionada, The Two Noble Kinsmen, para establecer las conexiones con posibles textos fuente y las relaciones con las actuales características del fanfiction.

Fanfiction, in a simplified manner, is a work of fiction written by fans as amateurs. With the digital age, this activity has popularized, and its negative characterization has diminished. A way the discipline of fan studies tackles the study of fanfiction in the academic world is to recognize the works created by fans as literary artifacts. This thesis seeks to think and analyze the idea that some canonic literature authors, such as William Shakespeare and John Fletcher, serve as precursors of this activity. A broad definition of fanfiction was stablished, considering its nuances, and then the selected work, The Two Noble Kinsmen, was analyzed so connections with possible source texts and its relationship with current fanfiction characteristics could be corroborated.
